About
Welcome to my website! Please have a look around. Some of my published short stories can be read here.
I’m a British writer (with dual Irish citizenship), and my short stories have been published by journals including The Rumpus, The Sonora Review, Shooter Literary Magazine, J Journal, Fictive Dream, The London Magazine and Litro.
I grew up in Manchester, studied English at Oxford and have an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia (where I was awarded a Distinction and the course prize for that year), and in 2023 I was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize Short Story Award for my story ‘Everything Happens in London’, which can be read here. I'm currently working on a novel and a short-story collection and can be found on BlueSky @scturnerfiction.bsky.social.
